A good night for mothers

Birds Wing

It didn't look like it would be a good night when I popped the light on early evening, but by midnight the garden was simply hoochin with moths. Using a 1/2 million candle-power torch I scanned the surrounding fields and could see moths winging their way to my trap!

By far the best night of the year to date, with 250 individual moths of 41 species.
